The Burgundy canal is now undoubtedly part of the heritage of Burgundy and over recent years has become a tourist destination rather than a commercial activity. The Tourist Office in Pouilly en Auxois has made a wonderful effort to improve this element of heritage by encouraging the development equally for local people and tourists, by recreating activites and bringing life back to the Canal, mainly by means of the Institute of the Canal and the pleasure boat « La Billebaude ». A brand new development of the Burgundy canal, the cycle track, is now in function and allows everyone to enjoy the pleasures of the Canal and the beautiful countryside.
